The IIT Campus Guide app is an interactive guide to the architectural and cultural history of the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) on Chicago’s south side. IIT has an acclaimed 20th-century urban campus, with such masterpiece buildings as Crown Hall and Carr Memorial Chapel by Mies van der Rohe, Galvin Library and Hermann Hall by Walter Netsch and SOM, State Street Village Dormitories by Helmut Jahn, and the McCormick Tribune Campus Center by Rem Koolhaas. This app is based on the original print edition of “IIT: The Campus Guide” (2005, Princeton Architectural Press) by Franz Schulze with photographs by Richard Barnes. Its content has been edited, updated, and expanded by Dietrich Neumann. Many historic photographs and new images by Hassan Bagheri, Karsten Crohn and Dietrich Neumann were added. The IIT App is the premiere app in The Campus Guide series. Future apps will include Harvard, Yale, UVA, and MIT. We hope students, alumni, and faculty will contribute comments for future updates.
